I can no longer download courses to my iPhone. I just get an error - cannot download

I download courses to my iPhone for listening later when I am not online. Recently, I have been unable to download. It appears to be downloading and then I get a message saying it was unable to download and it asks me to try again. How do I resolve this problem?
